When you uninstall Auware from your Shopify store, we remove everything we created so that your store returns to its original state. Specifically, the app deletes all Auware meta objects, removes our API access from Shopify, and deletes all of your campaigns from the Auware platform. In practice, it is like Auware was never installed. This approach ensures a clean uninstall that does not leave behind clutter, code, or unused data in your store.
Many Shopify apps leave behind files, scripts, or theme edits that continue running even after you uninstall them. Over time, those leftovers can cause slowdowns, styling conflicts, or errors that are frustrating for merchants and agencies to track down. Auware is designed differently. We intentionally avoid making changes to your theme or creating unnecessary assets in Shopify. That means uninstalling Auware will not break your storefront or interfere with your ongoing campaigns outside the platform.
From a data perspective, uninstalling removes your campaigns from the Auware dashboard, including the landing pages created for your audiences. Because these pages are tied directly to campaigns inside Auware, they stop functioning once the app is disconnected. This prevents confusion about live pages and ensures that your store does not continue serving content you no longer control. If you reinstall Auware later, you can start fresh with new campaigns and audiences.
On the Shopify side, uninstalling automatically revokes the app’s API permissions. Auware no longer has access to your store data, orders, or products. This is an important part of protecting privacy and security. Once the app is gone, it cannot pull or write any information back to your store. Agencies can reassure their clients that Auware follows Shopify’s best practices for app removal and data security.
We designed the uninstall process to be as simple as the install. There is no need to manually delete code snippets, hunt through theme files, or clean up leftover assets. With one click, everything is removed cleanly. This keeps your Shopify environment stable and makes it easy to test Auware without worrying about long-term effects if you choose to remove it later.
Of course, any digital marketing ads that used the Auware landing page URLs will need to be updated, since those landing pages will no longer exist.
In short, uninstalling Auware completely removes the app, its data, and its permissions from your Shopify store. Your store will look and run just as it did before, with no lingering traces of the app.
