You do not create products directly in Auware. Instead, you choose a product that already exists in your Shopify or Buyist store.
This means that the only prohibited products for Shopify-connected stores are the ones prohibited by Shopify itself. Shopify has a detailed list of restricted categories, which you can review here.
Some examples of prohibited products on Shopify include:
• Alcohol, tobacco, and e-cigarettes
• Firearms, ammunition, and explosives
• Cannabis products and many CBD-related items
• Prescription drugs and certain health products that require regulatory approval
• Adult content, pornography, or sexually explicit materials
• Gambling products, betting services, or lottery tickets
• Counterfeit goods, replicas, or products that infringe on trademarks
• Hazardous materials such as fireworks, fuel, or toxic chemicals
Shopify also restricts some categories where compliance depends on local laws, such as supplements, medical devices, or financial services. If your store already complies with Shopify’s rules, then you will have no issues using Auware to create campaigns and landing pages for your products.
Buyist, by comparison, has a shorter list of prohibited categories. If you are connecting a Buyist store instead of Shopify, you will find more flexibility in what can be sold. For specific questions about whether a product category is allowed in Buyist, you can contact their team directly to discuss your needs.
The key point is that Auware itself does not maintain its own separate list of prohibited categories. It inherits the rules of the platform you connect. This ensures consistency and avoids confusion. If Shopify allows the product, you can use it in Auware. If Shopify prohibits it, then Auware cannot generate landing pages for it.
In summary, Auware follows the prohibited product policies of Shopify or Buyist. Check Shopify’s list if you are using a Shopify store, or reach out to Buyist for guidance if you are on their platform.
